The Cropping Calendar is an information tool in food security. It provides information on planting, sowing and harvesting periods of selected Philippine Food Security Information System (PhilFSIS) crops in the Philippines, by province. The PhilFSIS crops are Rice, Corn, Cassava, Sweet potato and Banana Saba.
The Cropping Calendar supports farmers in taking appropriate production and marketing decisions for their crops. It enhances local production by making available timely information on various stages of crop development that guide farmers specifically on decisions pertaining to input usage. It serves as a reference material for emergency planning of the rehabilitation of farming systems after disasters.
