Milk Feeding Program

This program promotes cost-sharing with local government units to attain the twin objectives of addressing malnutrition and at the same time, creating livelihood opportunities that build the asset base and increase farm incomes. For sustainability, the dairy enterprise is assured of a stable market in its early stages of development thereby ensuring prompt payment for milk.

Legal Basis: National Dairy Development Act of 1995 (Republic Act 7884)

Section 3. Mandates the Authority to enhance children's nutritional intake through the promotion of locally produced milk and milk products.

Section 16. Requires that government nutrition programs that use milk shall be supplied by local milk producers and shall be coordinated with the NDA.
